Happy OneWebDay!
BlogSeptember 22, 2006: First Official OneWebDay
Today marks the first OneWebDay.
In the same vein as Earth Day, the mission for OneWebDay is to create, maintain, advance, and promote a global day to celebrate online life, an idea thought up by Susan Crawford.
I think that Steven A. Perez from Ladera Ranch, California summed it up nicely as well:
"...a day to celebrate all of the wonderful people who make the web a nice place to be."
Raincity HQ is a wee bit vacated these days. Scales and Crystal are scarfing down fishheads in China with China Access 2008, while Erik and Steve are lapping up chocolate in Brussels at DrupalCon. BUT, we are all connected (of course) so what we are doing to contribute in a small way to OneWebDay is connect with one person who uses the internet for email only (we all know at least a handful of these types), or someone who doesn't turn on a computer, ever!, and tell them how the internet and connecting online has, well, changed our lives... they may want to blow up our MacBooks, but at least we tried.
