What's Happening at Raincity Studios These Days?
As some of you may have noticed, over the past few months, we made a lot of changes at Raincity Studios. We took on a new direction and are focusing our efforts in the development of web 2.0 projects.
Strong Partnerships and Great New ProjectsWe've had the good fortune to secure some great contracts and solidify our relationship with our partners at Bryght and Flourish Media. We also have some very exciting news that we are waiting to unleash, and I am positive they will make a lot of you very happy. But that's the extend of my teasing for now. We've been itching to leak something. (But I must resist the temptation)
We decided months ago that we would be launching the fourth version of the Raincity Studios' website in late May 2005 to coincide with the BCIT industry night for graduates of the digital Art Programs.
New Raincity Website Coming SoonMark has been busy working on the new v4 website and yesterday we approved the design. Needless to say it's looking great and will be build on Bryght's web 2.0 platform so you can expect it will have loads of cool features.
Our current version of The Standard will then be lost in oblivion, our fault for using Blogger in the first place. It has been a great development year for us and we have learned and grown a lot. This latest version of our website and our new direction is the result of our hard work, trial and error. We are confident we have found a solid platform to help us grow and serve you better over the next five (5) years.
A Stronger Team to Better Serve YouAll 6 team members of Raincity Studios are working to better serve you. We have redefined our roles and have taken on a new managing partner: Will Pate.
The new Management Team and staff of RCS is now structured as followed:
- Robert Scales, Managing Director and PR
- Mark Yuasa, Creative Director
- Will Pate, Sales and Marketing Director
- Erik Hermans, Production Designer
- Sandra Smith, Chief Content Editor
- Mariska Richters, Production Designer
I feel very enthousiastic about the future of Raincity and the potential of our growing team.
We Moved Into a New OfficeWe recently moved into a shared office with our partners at Flourish Media. Until the end of the summer Raincity Studios will be located in Gastown, in the old Gaoler's Mews complex.

I would also like to take this moment and extend an open invitation to all of our local friends to the "Official" launch of our new website and the BCIT Industry Night. This event will be happening at CTV on May 25th 2005 from 5 to 9PM.
