Best Tech skill? Making geek-talk understandable
Briefly
With an unnatural love for Open source, community and freedom of information Jacob utilizes his skills to bring people together in order to create wonderful applications, build communities and make them both sustainable. His love for computers began when he successfully got his Tandy 1000 to connect to his friend's Apple LC2 via 1400 baud acoustic coupler modem. Of course they could have chatted in person but having a text conversation over a 1400 baud modem is much, much cooler (er, geekier).
In previous geek life Jacob has worked for the dark side as a Sysadmin, Microsoft Trainer & consultant, System's analyst, Network analyst, and a plethora of other geek related titles. He is bona-fied & certified geek with Microsoft, CompTia, Cisco, and, of course, Linux.
